The IATA Airline Industry Retail Symposium (AIR) takes place in Rome 23-25 October. Datalex will again be a key sponsor of this flagship IATA event. Each year, it attracts over 700 delegates from across IATA’s membership and wider industry community.
With retail at the heart of all current industry transformation efforts, IATA has decided to dedicate this year’s event to travel retail. In particular, the symposium will address in depth the topics of distribution and payment as two key pillars of airline retailing.
For a number of years, Datalex has worked closely with IATA. Datalex and IATA share common objectives: to serve the airline industry through thought-leadership and the development of standards and technologies that promote efficiencies, cost savings and revenue generation; and to help ensure that the process of digital transformation is as seamless as possible.
Since August 2016, Datalex has been certified to Level 3 for the NDC standard schema. Datalex is also an IATA ONE Order strategic partner and is an active member of IATA’s NDC working group.
Datalex Chief Innovation Office Alan Dunne will speak at this year's event on 'A Digital Marketplace for Travel Retailers to Manage Dynamic Offers and Pricing'. Other topics discussed at this years' event will include regional retail perspectives, the future of interlining in airline retailing, getting the offer to market, delivering and servicing the order, and the future of the Passenger Service System (PSS) in an airline retailing environment.
