Datalex Appoints New Senior Vice President Global Sales

December 6, 2017

Dublin, 6 December 2017 – Datalex, a leading provider of digital commerce for global travel retailers, has today announced the appointment of Alison Bell as SVP Global Sales. Alison brings to the role extensive commercial expertise in airline and hotel digital commerce and distribution strategies. Alison’s appointment comes at an important time for Datalex, as it continues to leverage a large and growing market opportunity for its digital commerce solutions.

Alison will lead and scale the global sales team at Datalex and will be responsible for driving global sales growth.  Her appointment comes at a defining time for the Datalex leadership team, as it continues to explore new strategic opportunities for growth while continuing to deliver the company’s Digital Commerce Platform to some of the world’s largest airline retailers and through strategic partners such as IBM and Neusoft in China. Imminent deployments to the Lufthansa Group continue to cement Datalex’s market-leading position, as does its continued investment in digital technologies such as AI, cloud and payments, as well as its new airline OTA (Online Travel Agent) solution planned for go-live with a major airline brand in 2018.

Alison joined Datalex in November 2016 as Vice President Strategic Sales and has held senior management roles at managing director and VP level spanning all travel retail sectors – airline, hospitality and online travel. Immediately prior to joining Datalex she drove several significant commercial opportunities at Mobile Travel Technologies (now Travelport Digital) and she has led global revenue-generating teams at Travelport and at hospitality technology provider, Travelclick.

Commenting on her appointment, Alison said: “Having spent the past year at Datalex I am more convinced than ever that this is the single best platform for travel retail in the market. Datalex’s technical and innovation capabilities, coupled with our platform flexibility, position us perfectly to meet the digital needs of our customers.”

Datalex CEO Aidan Brogan said: “Our market opportunity continues to grow as more travel retailers undertake the transformation of commerce systems necessary to prosper in the digital economy.  I am delighted to appoint Alison to the role of SVP Global Sales at this exciting time for our business growth. Alison and her team will focus on expanding our customer base around the world and on extending product and market reach through strategic industry partnerships.”
